A delegation from Taiwan, headed by Mr. Steve CH Lin, visited ARCDI facilities last July 26, 2005. Mr. Lin, who is an official of the Taiwanese Government's Industry Development Bureau of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, along with a Task Force, was in the country from July 24-28, 2005. Their main objective was to assess the country's training needs in the area of IC Design and conduct their own analysis of the supply and demand of the Philippine electronics industry for IC design talents.
On hand to welcome the delegation were Mr. Lito Zulaybar, who represented Mr. Cesar Quiason (ARCDI Executive Director), and Ms. Edith del Rosario (ARCDI Administrative Officer).
Prior to the visit to ARCDI and a few semiconductor and electronics companies, the delegation participated in a workshop hosted by BOI-DTI held in Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Makati City, last July 25, 2005. The workshop and the visits facilitated the Task Force in understanding better the Philippine industry and training institutions' scenario so that they can develop a more appropriate scheme for the Philippines.
