Mr. Peter Tecson Awayan obtained his BS Degree in Electrical Engineering from Mindanao State University in General Santos City in 1989. He took up a Masters degree in Statistics from the University of the Philippines - Diliman in 1998 (sans thesis). He is currently pursuing a Six Sigma Black Belt certification from the American Society for Quality in the US.
His most recent work experiences include: Senior Manager/SPC Champion at PSi Technologies, Inc, a semiconductor manufacturing company specializing in the manufacture of power devices (2006-2008); QA Section Manager at ATMEL, a semiconductor manufacturing subsidiary of ATMEL USA (2002-2004); Senior Supervisor for Technical Training / Quality Systems Lead Auditor at Automated Technology (Phil.) Inc., a Filipino-owned semiconductor manufacturing company exporting to the US, Europe, and Asia (1997-2002); among others. Mr. Awayan was also the Chairman in 2002 of the Semiconductor & Electronics Training Council (SETC), the training arm of the Association of Semiconductor & Electronics Manufacturing Engineers of the Philippines (ASEMEP). He is currently with A!Quality as a freelance technical consultant (2004-2006, 2008-present).
Mr. Awayan has vast working knowledge and expertise in manufacturing process control, quality management systems and quality assurance. He is a certified Lead Auditor. He is an expert in statistical and problem solving tools and methodologies. He had provided consultancy services to companies in the semiconductor and electronics industries on areas of manufacturing process control, statistical and problem solving tools, as well as Six Sigma / M/PCpS tools and methodologies.
