Dr. Andre Publico holds a PhD degree in Engineering Mechanics from Columbia University in New York, USA (2000). He obtained his Master of Philosophy (1998) and Master of Science in Engineering Mechanics (1988) from Columbia University in New York, USA . He completed his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (cum laude) from the University of the Philippines in 1983.
Dr. Publico is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Civil Engineering and Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of the Philippines. Among the courses he handles are: Reliability analysis, Finite element analysis, Finite element vibrations analysis, Introductory biomechanics, Machine design I, Plates and shells, Structural dynamics, Mechanics of vibrations, Structural engineering III. He has been teaching in the University of the Philippines since 1985.
He has served as a resource speaker/trainer for seminars in Biomechanics of human motion, Building design for accessibility, Finite element analysis, Probability and statistics, Advanced mechanics and Structural analysis III.
He is also currently a Trainer on ANSYS FEA Software Training Course for CAD-IT Consultants (Asia) PTE Ltd, Singapore. He has been very active as a Core Group member of the Training Workshop for Engineering Instructors Program and the UP-NEC Engineering Enhancement Program at the National Engineering Center, University of the Philippines. |
