Dr. Alexander Paran holds a PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Sheffield in Sheffield, United Kingdom (1999). He obtained his MS degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA (1983). He has published several international papers on CFRP panels. His expertise include Turbomachinery Design, Fibre Reinforced Composite Materials, and Control Systems Engineering.
Dr. Paran is currently the Chairman of the Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of the Philippines. He teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in Mechanical Engineering including Thermodynamics, Fluid Machinery, Machine Design, Composite Materials and Compressible Fluid Mechanics. |
